For years I’ve been telling clients that there’s no such thing as UL Certified for product safety. It’s either UL Listed (a complete certification) or UL Recognized (a partial certification for components intended to be installed in something). Looks like things are changing at UL, and now you can use a “UL Certified” label on your products.
There’s four parts to this label:
- “UL Certified” logo;
- The type of evaluation UL performed, “Safety” in the above picture;
- Country monikers, such as “C US”, or “US” in the above picture;
- UL file number
UL notes that customers are encouraged to transition to this “enhanced” UL Certification Mark when they see value. Note that this is only for products that are already UL Listed, and is an option to the already used UL Listed mark.
